Yesterday we had a huge turnout for our classic rollerski and BBQ. We had 26 athletes, 4 coaches, and about 9-10 parents that were cycling or running. The top-secret venue is pretty much a training mecca: great pavement, long sight lines, and a mixture of easy- to challenging-terrain for rollerskiing or cycling. We did an endurance workout with a focus on continuous skiing and technique. Everybody skied at least 90 minutes, with the older athletes closing in on a full 2 hours. We lucked out with sunny skies, in spite of the T-storms forecast.
Thanks to Monica and Alex John for hosting the bbq and providing the kabobs and meat! It has been a long time since we've had any sort of social gathering for both the atheltes and parents. A great tradition in the making.
